Click any chord circle to hear it and add it to the progression strip above the diagram. Arrows show where that chord naturally resolves next.
Key transposes the whole map to any of the 12 major/minor key pairs — the same chord functions, just shifted.
Layout: Academy is a fixed neo-Riemannian Tonnetz grid — position reflects how many notes two chords share, so nearby chords voice-lead smoothly (this isn't the same as "resolves to" distance — a V→I cadence shares only one note, so it isn't drawn close even though it's the strongest resolution in tonal music; follow the arrows for that). Producer lets you freely drag chords around. Chromatic Universe is a different kind of map: instead of one key's chord functions, it shows every major, dominant 7th, minor, diminished and augmented triad in all 12 keys at once, arranged by circle of fifths — there's no key dropdown in this mode because every key is already on screen. Use Academy/Producer to find what works in a key; use Chromatic Universe to explore how any chord relates to any other, in any key.
Playback: Block Chord plays all notes together; Arpeggio plays them one at a time.
Show pills: Core Diatonic chords are always visible. Toggle on Borrowed Chords (modal interchange), Tritone Subs, Secondary ii-V prep chords, Deceptive Resolutions, or Extended 9ths to reveal more of the map.
Legend colors chords by category; a gold-ringed circle is the tonic (I / home).
Progression strip records every chord you click as plain text — Copy it to your clipboard or Clear to start over. Nothing is saved or exported as audio/MIDI.
Stop silences whatever is currently playing or queued up. Cadences opens a reference library of cadence types, most with a one-tap audio demo.
